Posted to: Music Teen Music

Members  Alex Seawell , 16, lead vocals, saxophone; John Armstrong , 18, drums; Andrew Pecsok , 16, bas s guitar; Samn  Dworetsky , 16, guitar; Tony Lambiase , 15, backup vocals, saxophone

Genre  Ska/reggae

Origin of name  Andrew’s dad suggested “The Man Eating Camels” four years before the band became a reality. Alex notes the irony: “Camels seem docile … but we’re not!”

Together since  January 2007

Inspiration  The band wants “people to have fun and enjoy themselves,” Alex says. They perform to spread the excitement.

Writing Process  Alex writes the majority of the songs, but when he brings them to practice, all the other members are ready to “put their own twist on it,”  Andrew says.

Why?  John puts it best: “We have a good connection in our band.” The members love having music as a part of their lives.

Artists admired  Andrew, John and Alex may argue over which artists they like best, but there’s no arguing that they all like the Slackers, Streetlight Manifesto, Madness and Choking Victim.
