Milder temperatures expected through the week

The rest of the week should be pleasant with temperatures in the low to mid-80s and sunny skies, the National Weather Service says.

Today’s high will be about 83 with a low tonight of about 69, the weather service says.

A moderate risk of rip currents should prompt swimmers and surfers to be cautious, according to a hazardous weather statement issued by the weather service.

A small craft advisory also was issued.

Air quality today in Hampton Roads is expected to be good, according to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

According to the National Hurricane Center's five-day track forecast, Tropical Storm Fay is expected to turn back toward Florida and head across the state. The storm now near the east coast of Florida.

Hampton Roads is not expected to receive any rain this week from the storm.
