A motorcyclist who apparently lost control and crashed on an Interstate 664 off-ramp in Newport News has died, police said.
The crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. today when the man, traveling south on I-664, crashed into a jersey wall on the 35th Street ramp, state police Sgt. Michelle Cotten said.
He was pronounced dead at Riverside Regional Medical Center, where paramedics took him for treatment of chest and head injuries, Cotten said.
The man’s identity is being withheld until authorities can notify his family, she said.
