A 27-year-old man died this afternoon in a motorcycle wreck on General Booth Boulevard.
At about 3:30 p.m., Joshua Barrett was traveling north on a motorcycle near the 1200 block of General Booth Boulevard, at Berknor Drive, when he attempted to pass two vehicles at a high rate of speed, said Adam Bernstein, a Virginia Beach Police spokesman. At the same time, a Ford Escape pulled out of the KOA Campground and collided with the motorcycle.
Barrett was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford Escape driver does not face charges, Bernstein said.
