Obama will visit Virginia on Wednesday with Mark Warner

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, Democratic candidate for president, and former Gov. Mark Warner, a candidate for U.S. Senate, will participate in a town hall meeting Wednesday in Martinsville, Obama’s campaign announced.

The session, which is only open to those with an invitation, will be “with workers and families who have been impacted by the failed trade policies of the Bush Administration,” according to an Obama campaign news release.

The forum comes less than a week before the start of the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Aug. 25 where Obama is expected to formally be declared the party’s presidential nominee.

Warner, who is running against former Gov. Jim Gilmore for the Senate post, is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the convention on Aug. 26.

Obama has not made public his choice to be his vice presidential running mate. Among those mention for the post is Gov. Timothy M. Kaine.

I am a registered democrat. The biggest mistake my party made was introducing Obama.

your blind faith in our current bad leadership has you so jaded. The only crushing you will se is when the dems take the Presidency AND Congress, you know it and I know it. And frankly it is about time, we will have 8 years to fix your party's mistakes and there are ALOT of them! The Obama era is coming, hold on tight this will be great!

Shallow end of the pool

I know Obama supporters like him because it is sort of like tv. You know...like a sitcom or cartoons. The reality of the situation does not seem to enter their minds. I hope to be writing in November after he is crushed in the national election.

This is the most powerful postion in the world. Only a person who withholds critical thinking form their thought process could be so commited to this candidate with the information available. While I feel he will lose, the sad thing is that the movie Idiocracy seems to be nearing reality.

It is beyond me how people in this country, in this case Virginia, can't see the scam the Dems are pulling on this country. "B.O.'s coming to Virginia" big deal! They have scheduled a meeting with people that are going to say what they want them to say. I wouldn't be surprised if B.O. backers haven't alreayd met with these folks to choreograph the meeting. The Dems stand for higher taxes. I'm not a tax professional but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, higher taxes, lost jobs. What are people thinking?
I can't wait to hear what's going to come out of this meeting. All these people want is a government handout.

You Can't Even Trust The Word of A Preacher!

Now they're saying that Mclame wasn't even in the building (or the "Cone of Silence") at 8:00 when Obama's questioning started. You can't even trust a preacher on his word and now I know why McCain started answering the questions BEFORE they were completely asked, disgusting.

To top it off, most of McCain's answers wer "militaristic" in nature. I guess his answer to everything is to "Hunt it down and kill it". You know, How many crisis have we been told "We will defeat it"? You can't defeat an idology, which is what the Al Quida terrorists have. Someone will always carry the banner. However, you can eliminate some of the people that are spreading the idology by using small teams of special forces.
