PORTSMOUTH
A Portsmouth man who was reported missing on Thursday was found dead of natural causes today, police said.
Johnnie Anderson, 84, of 1 Harbor Court in Portsmouth was reported missing Thursday morning. He suffered from medical problems, Portsmouth police said, and did not return home after leaving for a doctor’s appointment about 3 a.m.
A worker in the 3100 block of Airline Boulevard saw Anderson’s SUV in a wooded area this morning and called police.
Police said Anderson died of natural causes while driving the vehicle, which then veered off the road and crashed.
