Back in the ring for the first time in 20 months, Portsmouth lightweight Dorin Spivey (35-5) won a unanimous four-round decision against Edward Anderson (4-12) on Saturday night in Salem.
Spivey, 35, had not fought since December 2006. A scheduled bout in Norfolk last month was canceled when his opponent failed to appear. A bout in Richmond last spring also fell through.
"It was weird," Spivey said. "I felt rusty at first, but then I started putting my combinations together and I got the win."
