State launches web site for seniors, disabled adults

Posted to: News

Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced a new state website aimed at helping the elderly and adults witih disabilities to find information about services, benefits and other support programs.

The site - www.easyaccess.virginia.gov - provides information for seniors, the disabled and caregivers about community support, emergency preparedness, transportation issues, financial support and more. The site is searchable by city and includes VirginiaNavigator, a list of more than 21,000 state programs.

The site allows users to email questions and provides important phone numbers. Starting in the fall the site will allow users to submit a Medicaid application.

Gran likes it.........

Even thought my 90 year old mother wont be surfing the net it will allow me to research variety of things at her request.

good job!

Kudos to all, nice site and I am sure will be helpful to all......Thanks

Useless to seniors

As a care giver to my live in grand parents I find this website USELESS to "THEM". I am sure that it will be usefull to myself and my wife but my grandparents struggle just to use the TV. Not to mention the time they attempted to watch a movie in the upstairs theater. Not to be negative, but I think a mailer or better information at senior centers would be a greater investment for seniors.
