Admirals get three players from NHL’s Lightning

Posted to: Admirals Sports

High-scoring former Norfolk forward Brandon Bochenski, defenseman Matt Smaby and forward Zenon Konopka were all re-assigned to the Admirals by the parent Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.

Bochenski scored 33 goals in just 35 games for the Admirals during the 2006-07 season before being traded to Boston. He still owns or shares three Norfolk franchise scoring records.

Smaby played 58 games with the Admirals last season. Konopka was the captain of the Syracuse Crunch last year, when he posted a career-high 24 goals and 55 points.

Maybe....

That's hoping that Bochenski and Konopka pass through waivers without getting picked up by another NHL team.
