Another Iron Lady

Sen. McCain deftly slipped a silver splinter into the heart of the Obama-Biden campaign by introducing Gov. Palin as his running mate. You want change America? Well, now you’ve got it right between the eyes.

As for a role model, I would suggest Palin emulate Lady Margaret Thatcher, former British prime minister and the original Iron Lady. Maggie didn’t put up with any guff from anyone; neither should the governor.

All Excuses...

Palin cannot run as a reformer on issues like spending and earmarks when she herself was a pig at the trough so to speak-and quite a glutonous one at that. Perception vs reality. She took on some issues as governor as a matter of poliical necessity, because her history pior to that was not of a reformer. It is what it is. And what about the other issue of the AIP? She tells seccesionists to keep up the good work. Wow if Obama belonged to or supported a group wanting to seceed from the US it would be a field day in the media-especially with the nut jobs like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, Savage, etc, etc, etc. There are big questions about her and it seems those questions are getting brushed under the carpet by the GOP.

Ellipsoid

Two comments:
Many military members break under torture. Did you hear at the convention what Mr. McCain's cellmate did when Mr. McCain broke? Comforted him, because he knew how rotten people feel when that happens and that it eventually happens to a lot of them . . . There is more that could be said on this (the training is unclassified) but I would not want to give away what we are told to do, in case any enemies are reading this website, since we are still at war.
Also, about Wasilla, Alaska, it is becoming a suburb of Anchorage (40 miles away) and some of the funding obtained was to build public transport. Sure, that is a big expense, but isn't it one that the "green" folks would be proud of? Cheers, MGM

Palin's Recent Past

She lobbied and got $27 million for her small town when mayor (that equates to almost $4,000 per citizen-when the national per capita average was less than $50), and she supported Stevens (king of pork) and the bridge to nowhere until it and Stevens ran into trouble. Hmm. And then we have the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) that is a seccessionist group whose leader is on record calling the American flag that "da-- flag" and that he hates the US Govt. Husband Todd was the official member for years until 2002. Vice Chairman Dexter Clark said in 2007 she was involved. She attended the AIP convention in '94 and '06 and addressed them in '08. Palin's comments included welcoming the attendees and telling them to "keep up the good work". So far that bad ole liberal media has mostly ignored this and Obama is still being grilled for no assocation with Ayer's group.

McCain

McCain reminds me of Dukakis' pick of Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate. After the honeymoon Republicans' skewered Geraldine. Listening to the news media Republicans are circling the wagons to protect Sarah Palin. I say to the Republicans you can't have it both ways. You blasted Geraldine so get ready to have Palin attacked.
Republicans have used black teenage pregnancy as an malady responsible for all the evils in America. Palins' teenage mother is somehow sacrosanct and not to be touched.
Republicans have shrilly harped about Obama's inexperience and McCain picks a moose hunter. The Republicans have no platform so they stole the Democrats "Change you can Believe In" turning it into "Change You Can Trust". What's the difference?
Republicans state ,as a POW, McCain has been tested. Seems he was tested, and tested, and tested until he broke and confessed being a criminal. As president he will be tested. Will he break , again?

Amazing..

Obama has been run through the gauntlet for the past year and a half, has been interviewed, grilled, questioned, etc. He has been in vigorous debates. He has responded by answering to those queries and been vetted as such by having his feet held to the fire on numerous issues. Biden has as well. Palin has had no such experience yet and somehow people are saying she is the one. Based on what? Talk about setting the bar very high for the Dem ticket and setting it very low for the Repub ticket. She needs to have the same grilling and grinding away that Obama and Biden have been exposed to. Obama even had the guts to sit down in an interview with Bill O'Reilly. I have the strange feeing she will be protected and coached extensively. Politic is perception and you can bet the GOP is working that angle to the hilt.

Bid Talk!

I have been hearing a lot of hot air and big talk from about a women that probably even the poster never heard of before the convention. Let she is she is allowed out into the big arena for serious debate, or sheltered to shows like Hannity etc.I look forward to her debate with Biden. I hope she has done her home work.
