VIRGINIA BEACH
Police are investigating an armed robbery of a SunTrust Bank on the 1600 block of General Booth Boulevard Saturday.
At 9:14 a.m., a man walked into the bank, approached a teller and displayed a razor blade, according to a news release from Virginia Beach Police. He demanded that she place money in a bag that he provided. When the teller complied, the man fled from the bank and headed east on General Booth Boulevard, toward a Burger King restaurant.
The man was described as black, about 33 to 38 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall and about 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing sunglasses, a black ball cap, blue and white bandana covering the lower part of his face, a black jacket, black jeans and white sneakers. He was carrying a dark-colored bag.
Virginia Beach police said the same man could be connected to a robbery on Aug. 29 at a BB&T Bank on the 5200 block of Princess Anne Road.
