Database: School accreditation in Hampton Roads

Posted to: Education News

Student pass rates on the Standards of Learning exams determine school accreditation. Schools must meet a minimum student pass rate in the core subjects of English, math, science and history in order to become fully accredited.

Failing to meet the benchmark in one subject can result in a status of accredited with warning. Schools that do not meet benchmarks for more than three years in a row can be denied accreditation or granted conditional accreditation.
