Israeli peace activist to give talk at ODU Wednesday

Shimon Shetreet, a former Israeli Cabinet official and former member of parliament, will speak Wednesday on "Building a Culture of Peace in Challenging Times," at Old Dominion University.

The talk starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Chandler Recital Hall of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. Shetreet leads a project that teaches that peace must be political, economic, cultural and religious.

He was an Israeli government official under prime ministers Itzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres. Shetreet also teaches law at Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
