NORFOLK
Police have formally arrested an adult male already in custody who they say will be charged in the death of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found in a home on the 3000 block of Pleasant Ave. early Saturday morning.
Shortly after midnight, police were called to the Ocean View house for a reported disturbance, said Karen Parker-Chesson, a spokeswoman for Norfolk police. Once on the scene, they found a deceased girl.
The adult male who is facing charges in the homicide was not identified by police. Parker-Chesson also said she would not release the name of the girl because she was a minor.
She also declined to say whether the girl lived at the home or whether officials found any sign of trauma.
