Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, will campaign in Virginia Beach on Sept. 18.

Attorney General Bob McDonnell made the announcement during a telephoned news conference from the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. McDonnell said other details about the visit have not been finalized.

Palin, the governor of Alaska, galvanized the convention with a speech Wednesday night.

Palin left town $22 million in debt

Palin took over a city with no debt and left with the town $22 million dollars in debt. She raised sales taxes and built, not a much needed sewage system, but a sports complex! She is a borrow and spend Republican like George Bush.

meridianfrost = meridianwrong!

Taxes are why most of said companies (employers) moved manufacturing overseas. Tax them (employers) even more and they will eventually do as the once mighty US shipping companies did which was to reflag in another country. I know you will now bring up that they moved to avoid paying a fair wage plus benefits to employees so take a look at INTEL's wage scale at all the plants it moved to Israel. You will see it was the promised contactual tax rates that caused the move as stated by Intel's CEO on 60 minutes.
Also if any of you own any stocks or mutual funds that invest in the companies you wish to tax then be careful what you wish for! I also will give you 1,000 to 1 odds you never look for a USA manufactured alternative to the housefull of foreign products you have, do you hypocrite!

McCain Palin had some bad Sunday Press

The McCain Palin ticket along with their surrogates had a very tough day in the mainstream press. I was a little worried immediately following the GOP convention, but I am much less worried now. If the polls are showing only a 2 point jump for McPalin after their big party, and the addition of their Golden Child, then conservatives better be very concerned about their chances in Nov.

REpugs must think the american people are stupid. I mean, do we need 8 MORE years of failed trickle-down economics? Lol. You guys are funny. The economy issue is so simple. Companies who outsource their businesses overseas will have the crap taxed out of them, to take away the extra profits that they would have earned by that action. Companies who keep their companies inside the us will receive tax CUTS. Now, I know that you republicans are thick headed, but see if you can follow the logic here:

American Companies th

TR

I am not being funny. I simply do not understand what you are asking me. I simply responded to your post and said she was more experienced than Obama. This is a fact. Did I miss something ?

"time honored values"

"Get a grip unless you want to lose our great nation to something other than established, time-honored, American values. Our nation is already leaning left towards the cliff of utter despair, so vote to bring it back upright and wholesome once more."

Get a grip?
If Obama is about to fall off that left facing cliff, then what the heck do you think George Bush has been doing for the past 8 years, picking daisie? How in heavens name can we afford 8 more years of Bush deficit, Bush's politics and Bush's war of lies? The answer is, we can't. Time honored values, excuse me, but you can't be serious.

"Socialist Sea brewing with Marxist undercurrents"

I hear too that Obama practices witchcraft.
"Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble"

Racquet is Delusional From Too Much McKool-Aid

How long have you followed presidential politics, Racquet? I've been paying attention since 1964, and I can tell you that there is NOTHING new about your fear tactic. You are just trying to make people afraid to vote for a Democrat by calling him a socialist. When your side has NO plans, I guess that you have nothing left, but to try to scare people away from someone who does have ideas.

Palin's gunna need caller ID for that 3am phone call

Palin's being shipped back to Alaska so that she can study up on what foreign policy opinions she might like to have, learn the official McCain lines on Iraq, and deal harshly with any remaining small town librarians that might stand in her way.

A senior McCain campaign official advises that, despite the requests from the media, Palin won't submit to a formal interview anytime soon. Until she's ready -- and until she's comfortable -- which might not be for a long while -- the media will have to wait.

PIED PIPER

Have mercy, do some of you believe everything Obama says?

Here's an analogy: Pied Piper playing a tune of dissimulation, leading a host of starry-eyed, misinformed, and misguided rats to their doom, jumping off the American cliff into the Socialist Sea brewing with Marxist undercurrents. Oh yeah, and the Pied Piper will sit down with terrorist organizations without any preconditions. Are you willing to settle for any of this, as an American? What can you ultimately lose? Your freedom, for one, because you'll have much less of it in a socialist regime.

Get a grip unless you want to lose our great nation to something other than established, time-honored, American values. Our nation is already leaning left towards the cliff of utter despair, so vote to bring it back upright and wholesome once more.

McCain/Palin 2008!

"obama terrorist"?

You want people to search Obama Terrorist????? Have mercy, do some of you actually believe everything you read?

Support in White House for Special Ed? huh?

For those of you who seem so enamored with Gov. Sarah Palin, it might be worth noting that she oversees the budget for the Department of Education and Early Development Special Schools in Alaska.

The following programs are included within this component:
Special Education Service Agency (SESA)

The Annual budget for 2007, which preceded Gov. Palin was $8,265,300.

The Annual budget for 2008, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

The Annual budget for 2009, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

This is a cut in special needs services to children in Alaska of 5,109,300 , or 62%.

So, as the Alaska State Budget description states, "Without the supplementary services the child’s needs would not be met by the local school district in most cases."

Did 62% of all of the special needs children in Alaska stop having needs once Gov. Palin took office?

America: Read & Heed

Palin is an extraordinary person and a remarkable woman, mom, and public servant.

Compare Palin to this:

Do you want to know what Obama really stands for? Here's some homework for you -- now, now, don't groan -- it's easy and won't take too much of your time.

Go to your favorite Web search engine, type in Obama Terrorist, and read at least 6 articles (there are MANY more), be very afraid, consider the negative implications for our great nation, and pray that this nightmare never happens to our country. You can see that this isn't my opinion -- it's documented by others who have done the research.

Palin doesn't seem so bad now, does she? McCain/Palin 2008!

Ira - if you're gunna retort, i suggest you address my points

.. which you avoided completely. Surprisingly, Karl Rove is right on this one.

"With all due respect, again, to Governor Kaine (PALIN), he's been a governor for 3 years (PALIN - 18 months). He's been able, but undistinguished. I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th-largest city in America (PALIN - mayor of city of 5k). And, again, with all due respect to Richmond, Virginia, it's smaller than Chula Vista CA, Aurora CO, Mesa or Gilbert AZ, North Las Vegas, or Henderson, NV. It's not a big town. If he were to pick Governor Kaine (PALIN), it would be an intensely political choice, where he's said, 'You know what? I'm really not first and foremost concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the US? What I'm concerned about is, can he bring me the electoral votes of the state of VA, the 13 electoral votes in Virginia?'"

Ira!

Just to support your case even more, did you see this week that about a hundred Chicago students boycotted the schools and, with their parents' assistance, drove to a nearby wealthy suburb and attempted to enroll there? Their statement was that the Chicago schools have failed them, have failed their parents, and have failed their grandparents. Not exactly a proud day for Obama's hometown. I think I would rather be educated in Alaska, no matter what anyone says about it being a backwater. Cheers, MGM (did Obama attend the Chicago schools after returning from Indonesia?)
P.S. Gertz Point, of course many voters for the other side watched Mr. McCain's speech. I take it that is what you meant by your comment, as I am sure few non-voters were up that late to see it (students).

Discrimination

"A glaring example of more poor judgement by JM. She's a 72-year old hearbeat away from running the WORLD's super power and she's being schooled in an AK hidey hole by the "experts" who got us into these many debacles."

So TR, Obama was schooled in the inner city of Chicago. The evidence shows he has no knowledge from his senate duties. He was hardly there. Isn't it true your real problem is that she is a woman? Why do you not trust a woman to be in a powerful position? In a side by side comparison this is the only thing I can think of other than rabid partisanship that could steer your views. It is clear she has more experience than Obama.

38.9 million viewers

watched the GOP, but that does not equate to 38.9 million voters.

Raquet is Not Connecting Dots - He reciting Rove's Play Book

Ever heard of seven degrees of separation Raquet? That's a cute game the neo-con smear machine likes to play to discredit individuals. What about your own friends, family and associates? Do you know everything about them? Is there not an extremist in the bunch? Stop playing the game.
Repbulicans are very good about telling us what they are against, why we should be afraid and what we should be afraid of (the big, bad liberal boogy man), but they offer NO ideas for dealing with the defecit, educating our children, helping Americans (yeah, you remember your fellow citizens?) find health care etc. They offer nothing except a hockey mom and a war monger... how quaint.

another misinformed democrat

L - Where do YOU get YOUR info? Daily Kos? Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, Air America, Jeremiah Wright? According to Nielsen (see, they're the people who compile the ratings), "On Thursday night, John McCain’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention bested Barack Obama’s record-breaking viewership numbers from last week by 500,000 viewers.
More than 38.9 million people tuned in to coverage of the final night of the GOP convention. In comparison, Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic convention drew 38.4 million viewers."

Incidentally, also according to Nielsen, 97.5 million people watched the Super Bowl this year. That would be more than twice as many who watched Obama' speech. As you said, "Ignorance does not do you justice. It just make you look stupid. Please try reading."

Love the "change"

The attacks on this woman are appalling. The Obama and Liberal media are freaking out because she is bringing there double standards to light. The left is down playing the fact that they wanted to completely withdraw from Irag and Afghanistan, but they are now realizing that would have been a major mistake. Now our troops that are leaving with a victory on there mind instead of a retreat and failure.
America will prevail and be strong with McCain in office.
Raising taxes in a slow economy is not a good idea!
Weakening our military when we are in a war on terrorism is not smart either.
God Bless America!
Please Vote!

And Obama doesn't have corruption??

Chris33, if that is your criteria for not voting for someone, then you sure had better not vote for Mr.Obama. Or do you have selective baggage searches. Obama gets a free pass on all his misdealings, but Ms. Palin gets raked across the coals. Why must people be so shallow? I know that Gov. Palin has some issues that haunt her. But her issues pale in comparison to Sen. Obama’s issues. Besides, it really sounds like you get your information from tabloid gossip bloggers like DailyKos and Moveon.org. You really can’t be an intelligent person and believe anything those types of loons produce.

Consider this...

Forget about Sarah Palin for just a moment.

Rather, consider these names: William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi, Robert Malley, Tony Rezko, Malik Zulu Shebazz, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Khalid al Mansour, Raila Odinga, Mark Ndesandjo, Malik Obango Roy Obama, et al.

These are "alleged" associates of Barack Hussein Obama, both past and present.

What do they "supposedly" stand for, collectively? Let's see: anti-white, anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, anti-American, home-grown terrorism, international terrorism, PLO & Hamas sympathizers, and the list goes on. Is there any wonder why Obama stated that he would meet with terrorist organizations without preconditions?! Hey, I'm just connecting the dots...

Here's a more important question: Why does Barack Hussein Obama align himself with such people?! The implications for America are insanely scary!

The American people aren't stupid. This can't be simply chalked up to errors in judgment or choosing the wrong friends (you may have heard this before). And we're not going to accept an excuse of "forgetting" when "you know who" is questioned about being a Director of such an organization sharing board functions with William

Hypocrites!

Wow how the tone changes when it is not your candidate.
The left and also the media, NY Times specifically said everything about Geraldine Ferraro that the right is saying about Palin now!
What happened to all the rhetoric they spouted then?
Oh I remember, not whats good for the USA or what is fair and equal but justs whats good for us as a party!
It is time to remove the foreign influenced corporate puppets in DC and start again.
I cannot use the true word as it will be rejected so I substituted "puppets" but the true word is one who exchanges sexual favors for cash.

Just After Seeing Her

Submitted by Jon1982 on Thu, 09/04/2008 at 6:46 pm.
As a lifelong democrat, I am ashamed of my party. They have bowed to the left wing wackos and are trying to shove a ultra liberal down our throats. I would have voted for Hillary because I believe she really understood how to get things done in Washington. After seeing Sarah Palin, I will now be voting for McCain this year. Hopefully Hilliary can restore some sense to the Democratic party in 2012. No way am I voting for Obama.

You're exactly right. After "Seeing" her, because you sure wouldn't be voting for them if it had to be about any relative issues, because she stated none............WoW

Another misinformed republican

paulg86459 - where are you getting your info? Rush Limbaugh, Ann Couture, False News, Pat Robertson? There were 1.4 million less watching McCains speach than Obama. Most people polled said they woud rather watch the super bowl instead of McCains speach unless something suprising that came out from it like McCain resignation or Palin taking off her shirt. Ignorance does not do you justice. It just make you look stupid. Please try reading.

Palin is a right wing nutjob

Palin tried to ban books as mayor and tried to fire a librarian who would not go along. She made all her city managers submit letters of resignation to "prove their loyalty" to her. She wants creationism taught in schools. She is against abortion in case of rape. She is under investigation for abuse of power by the Alaska legislature. She abused her power as mayor, she abused her power as governor, and she will abuse her power if she ever gets to Washington. Hopefully Palin will be indicted on Oct. 31st and will never have power again.

That the GOPers have to hide Palin away...

... in AK so she can learn about affairs foreign before they can let her out in front of a camera/audience should be a blaring warning sign that she in no way should have been selected by McCain. All but the most partisan party-before-country citizens can see that. Although she did say to her church that our presense in Iraq is a "task from God". Why, that sounds just like the Shrubber.

A glaring example of more poor judgement by JM. She's a 72-year old hearbeat away from running the WORLD's super power and she's being schooled in an AK hidey hole by the "experts" who got us into these many debacles.

More people watched the

More people watched the McCain acceptance speech than watched Obama Apollo Barak even though 4 fewer networks aired it and the NFL opener was playing. The media can't twist the story when we hear it straight from the source. Liberal media being marginalized, how awful for the socialist agenda.

In a nutshell

Our Government has become a class of upon itself.
It's about power. Obtaining it and keeping it.
Dems/Repubs, etc., need a good ol' fashioned kick in tha pants to wake 'em up and realize they are not our rulers; they work for, and represent, us. Regular working stiffs.
I know I'm not voting for the Democrats this November. Not so sure about the Republicans either.

Why is it that amongst 300 million plus citizens in the U.S., these four are the major options with any chance of winning? Oh yeah - I forgot - politics means you need connections, grunches of money, and gain the favor of the national media.

Gertz

It is only hate filled if you take it that way as no hate was intended or I would have said so! What you are doing is exactly what is destroying this nation, assuming and making decisions based on said assumption to try and remove and hide from the truth! This silly PC touchy feely nonsense will be this nations downfall just as excessive bureaucracy destroyed Rome it will destroy the USA!
After my death that is!

patriot

Some pretty hatefilled name calling in all that rant. Don't you think?
