Two arrested after high-speed chase in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH

The driver of a silver Jaguar led a state trooper on a chase on Interstate 264 this afternoon that reached 120 mph.

The Jaguar driver crashed on the Birdneck Road exit. A trooper tried to stop the Jaguar because the driver was wanted, Virginia State Police said.

The trooper arrested the driver and a passenger in the car, State Police Sgt. Michelle Cotten said. The chase started at about 4:35 p.m. she said.

Cotten identified the driver as Paul Voskanyan, 23, of the 3000 block of Pasture Lane, Virginia Beach.

Voskanyan was charged with felony eluding, felony possession of a stolen weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, not wearing a seatbelt and other driving charges.

A passenger, Nakia Fanning, 34, of Virginia Beach was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a stolen firearm.

A third passenger was not charged.
