VIRGINIA BEACH
Police are looking for a man who forced his way into a car outside of a Virginia Beach nightclub early Sunday morning, demanded money, and shot two of the people inside the car.
The man had been in the parking lot of the nightclub Encore on the 1800 block of Virginia Beach Blvd just before 2 a.m. Sunday when his car got into a minor fender-bender with another car, said Virginia Beach police spokeswoman Margie Long.
The man got out of his vehicle and forced his way into the other car, which contained two passengers and a driver, Long said.
Once inside the car, he produced a handgun, demanded money and ordered the driver to keep driving, Long said. While the car was moving, the man shot one of the passengers and the driver, who crashed into a pole, Long said. The shooter then fled on foot.
The two victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man is described as a black male, between the ages of 20 and 28, about 6-feet-1-inch tall, with a medium build, medium length dreadlocks and a goatee. He was wearing a baggy white t-shirt at the time of the shootings.
