Weather service: Chance of rain, storms through the day

A cold front headed toward the area could mean isolated or scattered storms this afternoon, the National Weather Service says.

Some storms could be severe with strong winds and large hail, according to the forecast. The high is expected to be 81 today with the chance of storms continuing this evening. The low will be about 64.

The chance for thunderstorms continues through tomorrow with a high of about 78.

Air quality today in Hampton Roads is expected to be moderate because of particle pollution, according to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
