People please dont let race play a factor !! We already see what we have in office and if thats not working for you then CHANGE (DUUH). Anyhow, I must admit Palin held her own amid all the spectators. However, she hardly answered the questions and just kept referring everything back to Alaska, back to Alaska...WELL oh my goodness its not all about ALASKA when your up for VP. She needs to get on the ball otherwise I feel the Repubs are going to be hurting.

Upton Sinclair's The Jungle and other works got the FDA ball rolling and helped pave the way for said reforms. Actually, the fact that he was a socialist does not diminish his contribution, and The Jungle is considered a classic. Full federal child labor laws did not arise until 1938. And the government of Iran is set up somewhat similarly to ours, however nasty it's leader is.

I, for one, and tired of McCain describing himself as a maverick. Now he also describes Palin as one. That is all we need in the White House -two rebels - two independent thinkers that refuse to abide by the dictates of or resists adherence to a group (Americans?); two dissenters. Sounds a lot like Bush the Decider/Divider. What we need is one who can build consensus, who can lead by example, not one who rebels. If they are so independent, they should have run as independents. McCain has also driven his Navy/POW experience to the ground. By now, everyone in the civilized world knows.. so why constantly repeat it over and over and over again.

I am a navy pilots wife, I feel John Mccain is well experienced he is a veteran and can lead our country in a time where safety is a huge concern! Who is responsible for the current manufactured crisis? Republicans call Democrats 'Tax and Spend' Liberals. Yet, Republicans are tax cut and spend which is deficit spending. That is you spend money you don't have as opposed to Democrats spending revenue it receives.
Republicans are good at passing blame for their failed free market theory onto liberals.
Historically, Republicans spend us into debt and Democrats bail us out of debt. Republicans seek less regulations that creates corporate adventurism which results in risky corporate behavior. The end result is always capital fallout and government bailouts.
Altruism is a philosophy not a reality in corporate society. Unsupervised corporate risk taking depends on government bailouts,when Corporate capital should be the resource.. Instead of less government Republicans entrench government in our pockets through tax breaks and bailouts to corporations.

McCain has had 26 years in D.C. to fix what's broken and hasn't done it. He's the reason we need change now. Nothing he has done in this campaign has convinced me he deserves my vote.

Funny everytime Obama tryed to say something, John would step over him and wouldnt let him talk. What a strong Senator but John a stronger President and thats what we need!

Last night I found Obama to be too polite with McCain and there were severasl times when he should have called McCain on the carpet for some of his comments (lies).

4. American is loosing their edge in innovations. In college, american are taught to be multi-tasked. When college graduate are hired, by a company, they are hired as specialist for a particular area. The average engineer is a paper pusher and rarely uses his enginuity. The average engineer is academic qualified but has no technical competence.
5. Small business administration need to be revamped to help promote novelty ideas. And last, large business should receive tax breaks for increasing employment in the american community.
In conclusion, If all companies operates like a caterpillar tractor, then american companies wouldnot have any problems.

The debate was to be about foreign policies. Since it was more about the economy and no solutions were given, then, I will give my solutions to help recover from our Economic Crisis.
1. First of all, USA need to start tapping into our oil reserves, at the same time startup Off-Shore Drilling. Then, reduce the red tape and governmental regulations on alternate fuel and renewable energy.
2. Next stop blaming the oil companies for our energy crisis. The oil companies usually hires the best academic employees. They usually hire college graduate with a 3.0 out of a 4.0 grading system .To work for an oil company is an indication of positive achievement earned thru years of educational training....
However, Ronald Reagan changed the environmental rules for the refinery industry. That's why we have limited refineries. Stricter environmental regulations ,are again, needed for oil refineries.

I can't for the life of me understand how so many, supposedly intelligent people, can find themselves so "hoodwinked" by one smooth talking man. You have all, I would think, heard of the statement, "you are known by the company you keep"? Are any of you taking the time to look into the past "friends" of Obama? That alone should have you running scared in the opposite direction. While McCain was not my first choice, he is the only choice left that will keep this country safe from outside forces and with the help of God, handle the other issues that have arisen these past years.
