A woman faces reckless driving charges after State Police say she hit a trooper's parked car this afternoon.
The State Police trooper had pulled over a pickup truck for speeding on Interstate 264 eastbound near Mount Trashmore. He had just gotten back in his car when a Chevrolet Suburban ran into the back of the vehicle, said State Police spokeswoman Michelle Cotten.
The Suburban also hit the parked pickup truck, flipping several times before coming to a stop, Cotten said. The impact tore one of the back panels off the patrol car, she said.
Sabrina Farbor, 24, of Virginia Beach, told police she had accidentally drifted to the side of the road, Cotten said. The trooper told police she was talking on her cell phone at the time.
Cotten said there was no alcohol involved and that Farbor was wearing her seatbelt.
The trooper suffered minor abrasions. The driver and passengers in the pickup were uninjured, Cotten said.
Farbor was taken to the hospital with injuries that were non-life-threatening, she said.
