Blogging and Lawn Care
Normal 0
Well you guys- I just got it. A sign. A GIGANTIC, HUGE, PIE-IN-THE-SKY sign about where this blog is supposed to go. Well, not exactly where the content is going (I’m sure it’ll still be a blog about nothing), but where it’s going on the web.
Recently, I wrote the HR.com producer and asked that my blog get yanked for a while. As you know, I took a long break because I wasn’t sure where I was going; plus I wanted to fill that odd “hole” that had dug its way in my life. But then I wrote back and said, “Well, let’s give it a week and see if I still feel the same way.” So we did and I decided to stay on. But then, last week, a friend suggested I blog on other sites--- sites that pay. We also discussed other ways to make money writing or editing- even though the conversation was never really about the money.
Yesterday, a fellow HR.com blogger sent me an email out of the blue about one of the sites he blogs on (for which he gets paid). Interesting, I thought, and thanked him for the info. Well, tonight on the news, a VB woman was featured. She pays her bills blogging on a site called “Blogher.”
Okay, do I really need the money that bad? Well, the short answer is…. YES. Have you seen my lawn??? I simply can’t justify paying a lawn service all that money every month to do something I can do myself; but obviously I can’t do it myself and I’ve had five years to try. I figure, if I can make $65-70 a month doing something I do anyway- blogging, I can have a guilt-free, beautiful lawn! One will never know if one doesn’t try, after all. So that’s probably what I’m going to do- so when I suddenly disappear from HR.com, look me up on the web- I’ll probably be on another site (hopefully) earning my grass-seed and fertilizer!

what's goin on!
So, just had to comment, saw you on the "what's goin on in Hampton Roads" thing with Kristi Kastrounis...nice blog plug there LOL!
Thanks, guys...
If you don't live or work with me, then you have no idea how many times I change my mind- about everything! My brain goes around in circles, and ideas ebb and flow like the tide. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I think I might actually try to grow grass by myself again, because it's so much more satisfying that way. And another business opportunity has cropped up- might try it with a friend- so yeah, we'll see...
The intro quote
I just read your Gloria Stienem quote...Bono used a similar quote in "Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World"...he said "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle". Too funny.
