Courts and municipal offices

Chesapeake City offices and courts will be closed today.

Norfolk The Commissioner of Revenue, city treasurer's offices, Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, and Circuit, General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations courts will be closed today.

Portsmouth City offices and courts will be closed today.

Suffolk City offices and courts will be closed today.

Virginia Beach City offices and courts will be open today.

Financial institutions

Most bank and credit unions will be closed today. Contact specific institutions.

Garbage collection

Chesapeake Trash normally collected today will be collected Wednesday this week.

Norfolk No collections are scheduled.

Portsmouth Trash normally collected today will be collected Wednesday this week.

Suffolk No collection today. Today's route will be collected Tuesday; Tuesday's route on Wednesday; Wednesday's route on Thursday; Thursday's route on Friday; Friday's route on Saturday.

Virginia Beach Regular collections.

Hampton Roads Transit

Today, HRT will run on a regular schedule, except for no service on Route 963, which runs between Hampton and Norfolk Naval Station, and no NOB express. Call (757) 222-6100.

Postal Service

Post offices will be closed today with no mail delivery.

Public libraries

Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk libraries will be closed today.

Norfolk and Virginia Beach Open today.

Public schools

Norfolk and Portsmouth public schools will not hold classes today.

Suffolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach public schools will be open.

Recreation centers

Chesapeake Closed today.

Norfolk Open today.

Portsmouth Closed today.

Suffolk Lone Star Lakes, Bennetts Creek and Sleepy Hole will be open today, but no attendants will be on duty.

Virginia Beach Open today.

State offices

DMV All Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be closed today. Service for many transactions is available 24 hours a day at www.dmvnow.com and (888) 337-4782.

ABC Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control stores will be open regular hours today.
