A piece of Jennifer Hudson's tragic puzzle may be in place. Chicago police have recovered a .45-caliber gun that they believe was the one used in the shooting deaths of the Oscar winner's mother, brother and nephew. Technicians from the Illinois State Police crime lab will test the gun they found today against shell casings recovered at the crime scenes. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the gun and other as-yet-undisclosed evidence was discovered by a police recruit, who was conducting a routine search in connection with the investigation, at 1:30 p.m. in an empty trash-strewn on the city's West Side.

Halloween decor?...really.
On a more serious note, Cube can't ignore what some folks are passing off as Halloween decorations. West Hollywood, Calif., officials are investigating an effigy of Sarah Palin from a West Hollywood home within its Halloween display. Californians are driving in from all over I-5 to take a picture of themselves with a mannequin hanging by a noose.
The AP also reports that a life-sized likeness of Barack Obama was found hanging from a tree with a noose around its neck Wednesday at the University of Kentucky - for the second time.
ABC to broadcast 30-minute Obama ad
For those tired of political ads, especially the threat of a 30-minute ad, cheer ABC! ABC was the one major broadcast station that did not air the 30-minute Obama ad that aired last night at 8 p.m. on CBS, NBC and Fox for $1 million per network. The ad was also scheduled to run on Univision, BET, MSNBC and TV One. ABC had a change of heart, according to an AP report, but by the time it decided to make the 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday slot available for the Democratic presidential candidate's spot, his campaign had already finalized the ad buy. Obama also appeared on the Daily Show last night. He told Jon Stewart that he didn't think white voters would bail on him in the privacy of the voting booth.

Russell's Brand no longer includes the BBC
Russell Brand just proved (again) that raunchy gets you no where. The British comedian resigned Wednesday from his long-running BBC radio show after earning oodles of negative press for a series of raunchy prank phone calls he made to one of the former stars of the U.K.'s beloved Fawlty Towers. "As I only do the radio show to make people laugh I've decided that, given the subsequent coverage, I will stop doing the show," Brand said in a videotaped apology. In a prerecorded bit made on Oct. 16, Brand and Radio 2 colleague Jonathan Ross left four lewd messages on 78-year-old actor Andrew Sachs' voicemail. This is the first time Russell fell flat on his face….flash back to him hosting the MTV Video Music Awards. Watch his video apology here.
Soccer stud Beckham moving to Italy?
Is the most famous British family moving on to Italy? The British soccer star confirms that he does hope to move to Italy – for just a "few months" – later this winter. Now that David Beckham’s Major League Soccer season has ended with team L.A. Galaxy in the U.S., he's hoping to spend time playing with AC Milan. Beckham, 33, also took the time to dismiss claims that he's planning a more permanent move – including rumors that he's already sunk money into Milan real estate.
Is it War of the Worlds all over again?
In a shocking reversal, the Alien has switched his endorsement from Barack Obama to John McCain. Ongoing investigation points to Cindy McCain as being the cause for this historic shift in allegiances. Uncovered photos suggest that in a last ditch effort to help her husband’s failing campaign, Cindy McCain seduced and then blackmailed the Alien for his endorsement.
And here’s Cube’s reminder of Orson’s radio prank – a la 1938 – that scared the bujeezzers out of the country.
Google's going frugal with employee perks
Okay, techies and wannabes. You can keep your resumes to yourself. As the online search giant's stock sinks -- like other companies, the NY office is looking to slim down its exotic budget of afternoon tea Tuesdays and 'surprise snack attacks.' Working late night NY staffers are also being asked to NOT take the free dinner meals home.

He's been charged with petty larceny for stuffing pastries into his coat while picking BUYing a newspaper and picking up a free cup of coffee. Campus surveillance cams spied him over 17 occasions. He is still an employee.
Huffington Post writer stabs ex-lover 220 times
Carol Anne Berger, an election correspondent for the Huffington Post, stabbed her former lover 220 times with a screwdriver. Then, she reported him missing. Then, she shot herself a day later. Uh... Cube is aghast. Did the frustration of covering the election finally get to her?
Jessica Simpson movie a hit in Russia
