Did you see this?

If you were in downtown Norfolk around Atlantic Street (between the Marriott and the Bank of America building) this afternoon and saw what looked to be a movie crew filming, you’re kind of right. It was in fact a crew, and they were in fact filming – not for a movie but for a commercial for the U.S. Army. About 75 people were on site for half of the day – complete with that awesome catering spread film crews always have that you're always tempted to snatch a muffin or juice from (don't lie) – to film the commercial. Norfolk was chosen because of its proximity to the base here.

In the commercial, a young woman will emerge from an office building, then be magically transformed onto the beach. I don’t exactly get it either, but maybe it'll it make sense when it airs...

thanks

Yes, Army, although I could have been mistaken on the 'carrier' portion, so it's been updated. Good catch, thanks. But definitely Army.

ERROR IN FACT?

Are you sure this spot was for the Army? They don't have aircraft carriers - the Navy does. It would make a lot more sense if Norfolk was chosen for proximity reasons if this was a Navy spot, since the nearest (real) Army base is nearly 50 miles away.
