Letters to Editor - bLetters
We welcome your opinion on public issues, in either of two ways. You can submit a letter to the editor for possible publication in the printed edition. The Virginian-Pilot welcomes letters to the editor on all topics, although concise letters (150 words or less) on public issues will receive priority. Letters may be edited for length, style and clarity and writers are limited to one published letter every month. Please add your name, city, street address and daytime telephone number for confirmation.
The other way is to comment on the published letters in this blog. In this online forum, you can comment as much as you want by using the comment box at the end of each entry.

Actually we were attacked
An embassy counts. No child left behind had one problem -- the funding was left behind. But to assert that "we haven't been attacked so we are doing something right" is extremely bad logic.
I guess not being attacked
I guess not being attacked again and no child left behind are two big faluers in your book.
Re: The real Barack Obama
I fully disagree with Rudy O'Berry's poor assesment of the real Barack Obama. I don't agree with the facts that Mr. O'Berry comes up with, especially the one regarding the media and Democrats...Obama is no one's creation, he is his own, something orginial, new and fresh. He breathes new life into an archacic system that's existed in DC; a system that includes the current administration and one in which the current administration continues with. Mr. O'Berry predisposes that liberalism is an ugly destructive thing. Hardly the case when you have conservatives that wiretap, secretly spy on, and otherwise approve dishonest activities in the name of homeland security..not only is such behavior ugly and destructive, it's smacks of Big Brother and paranoia. Oh, and by the way, I am educated and don't mind bearing the responsibility of electing someone that I think, is better qualified in the sense of bringing change to this country, and I don't mind if he is liberal. I think it's the better choice.
Well said...
Gayle, nicely written... surely there will be the angry Republicans who will respond on this site and say you are a liberal who just wants free handouts from the government. That's the same canned response they always give. That's all they have. Because you know, expecting your representative to act like one is absurd, right? Like Bush, Thelma Drake has little to show for her time in Washington. And the Republicans who respond on here will surely try to disagree. Of course they will because they are desperate. Both Thelma Drake and John McCain are losing ground in Virginia, and for good reason.
thelma drake
Thelma Drake should run on her record. It reveals strong support of our military and veterans, despite the liberal spin. She sticks to her convictions and can justify any vote. I will proudly vote for her on November 4th.
