Face reading the political candidates: John McCain

Posted to: First Voter

Republic presidential candidate John McCain's right cheek reflects a ''pacifist-power'' style. He cares about having people get along more than most.

Nose

McCain has more nose padding than Obama. His padding is about a style where he prefers to work with as many people as possible. That was great for him in the Senate. The more people he can team up with the better.

Potential challenge It might be tough coming up with ideas on his own.

Face proportion

He has huge differences between left and right. It means the right side of your face is what you’re like in public and the left is what you’re like in your personal life, personal values. Look at the shape on the lower half of each eye. On a scale of 1 to 10, his right eye is an 8 and his left eye is a 1. In my system, this has to do with your comfort level and your loyalty.

The significance of that very curvy right eye is having a lot of openness to strangers, warm-heartedness, wanting to learn about them. In his personal life, anybody who wants to get close to John McCain has to go through a series of tests that are enormous, and very, very few people pass. But if there is someone he considers a friend, his loyalty is there forever. This difference between right and left is very common in public personalities. He comes across as open, when in reality he’s not, but he’s very loyal.

The widest part on his face is his right cheek. That’s about what I call a “pacifist-power” style. With this power style, you care about having people get along more than most people do. You will say and do what it takes to make peace. The advantage is that people find that extremely dependable, so they have that kind of confidence. This is someone who will be like a rock. If, for instance, people are voting because they’re frightened of terrorists, he would be like the rock, the big daddy, saying, “I’ll take care of you.”

Potential challenge Storing up anger. If you don’t like to be rude and bicker and argue … there’s a tendency to stuff it. You haven’t learned to be assertive, and one day you just explode.

Ear

His right ear, which is the one that counts for being in politics – that’s a perfect example of an “in-angled ear.” The talent with this one is following the rules. The rules of, say, a nice rich man who doesn’t want to brag about how many houses he owns. The good thing about this is the more conservative you are, the more people will trust you if you have in-angled ears. Other conservative people will tend to trust him.

Potential challenge Being very judgmental of people who don’t do what you expect of them.

Eye

Notice the down-angle right eye. Eye angles are not something most people know how to read, but here’s how: Make or imagine a dot at each corner of the eye and connect them with a line, then look at the direction of the line. On 85 percent of human beings, that line goes up to some degree. The others have a down-angle, an extremely rare thing. The down-angles – that’s about being very problem-oriented, being very aware of problems. Some people have accused him of being paranoid about terrorists and other threats, but others would say he’s aware of it and not in denial.

He’s got an even-angled left eye. This is extremely rare – about 1 in 2,000 people have this. Funnily enough, two presidents with this in recent memory are Bill Clinton and the elder George Bush. They both have an even-angled left eye. Your left eye is about your expectations deepest down when you look at social or political situations. This is a talent for being exceptionally realistic. You could call it shrewd, but that’s only the beginning of the praise that this particular face data item deserves. It’s an almost uncanny sense of what is really happening.

Potential challenge Emphasizing problems over solutions.

Eyebrows

He has what’s called starter eyebrows. He has a lot more hair by the nose than out at the ear. Starter eyebrows are about having enthusiasm over new projects and being able to inspire people that way.

Potential challenge Not actually finishing things.
