Free Veterans Day concert aboard the Wisconsin in Norfolk

Hampton Roads Naval Museum will hold a free Veterans Day concert Sunday, Nov. 9 aboard the battleship Wisconsin.

The concert will begin at 1:30 p.m. featuring the Hampton Roads Metro Band, a volunteer group with members who are in their teens to late 80s, according to a news release from the Hampton Roads Naval Museum.

The band is planning to play patriotic songs, including a new march composed by the conductor for the volunteers of the ship and the museum, the release says. Four of the band’s members are docents aboard the ship.

Admission to the museum, owned and operated by the Navy, also is free. For more information, go to www.hrnm.navy.mil.
