Hendrick, RCR won't switch drivers at Homestead

Word from the garage is that talk of Casey Mears driving for RCR at Homestead so Mark Martin can drive the No. 5 car at Hendrick in the season finale is off. Too many things to do and couldn't make it happen. So, Mark Martin's final race of this season will be at Phoenix (he's not scheduled to run the 8 at Homestead).

The talk in the garage is that testing at Cup tracks next year, which NASCAR floated out the idea of about 24 days, could be reduced to about 12-16. We'll see what happens.

Scott Riggs, who is out of the 66 after the season, says he's unsure when he'll get another Cup deal. He says he contniues to talk to teams but the issue is that teams are looking for sponsorship and until they have sponsors they're not making as many moves for drivers.
