RE bulletproof vest

Thanks for the info,.Thought it wasn't illegal in itself. Didn't make a lot of sense. Crazy Crazy, Is the crow tasty? lol

Bullet-Proof Vest

It's not illegal to own a bullet-proof vest unless it's used in the commission of a crime.

For example, if you're a business owner (i.e. legal business) who carries cash in a high crime area, it's perfectly legal to wear a B-P vest for self protection.

That is the way it should be. Law-abiding citizens shouldn't be prohibited from owning something that protects them from danger.

Bullet Resistant Vest

Just having/wearing the vest is not illegal. Committing other felonies while possessing/wearing the vest is.

18.2-287.2. Wearing of body armor while committing a crime; penalty.
Any person who, while committing a crime of violence as defined in § 18.2-288 (2) or a felony violation of § 18.2-248 or subdivision (a) 2 or 3 of § 18.2-248.1, has in his possession a firearm or knife and is wearing body armor designed to diminish the effect of the impact of a bullet or projectile shall be guilty of a Class 4 felony.

Why would you not think they would be illegal?

I don't understand why someone would be surprised that having a bullet proof vest is not good for anyone other than our police and military! Let me ask you this: If you and your family were in a bank and 3 men came in to rob the bank with guns pointed at your face telling you they are going to shoot you and your family while they all stand there with bullet proof vests on. At the second they come in your hoping the police get there quick and you get out alive. Who in that situation would you not want to have posession of a bullet proof vest? Would it be the person inside with guns that can kill you or the people you are waiting on to get there who also have guns that can kill the very people threatening to kill you? come on people think about what you say before you say it. Its not hard to do. I say good job to our suffolk police and all of the other police involved.

hmm

Amazing that having a bullet proof vest is illegal.

Bail?

You have got to be kidding if these people are allowed to be bailed out. If the charges are accurate, they are a time bomb waiting to go off! I hope I am not around when they do. Bond should be set so high on this group that Trump couldn't afford to pay it!
