A Virginia Beach man faces charges after state police said they found him in possession of 200 pounds of marijuana.
Redell L. Lane, 30, of the 400 block of Carnegie Road, was arrested in Suffolk after state police found him with the drugs on Oct. 22, according to an affidavit filed in Virginia Beach Circuit Court. Investigators requested permission to search Lane's home for information related to drug distribution.
The circumstances regarding Lane's arrest were not available. State police Sgt. Michelle Cotten declined to release details about the case because the investigation is ongoing.
Lane was being held Tuesday at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail in Suffolk on felony charges of transporting more than five pounds of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute more than five pounds of marijuana.
Lane is represented by Norfolk attorney James Broccoletti and is scheduled to appear Dec. 8 in Suffolk General District Court.
