Please Only Speak For Yourself BeachBoy

BeachBoy wrote "If every President in the history of the U.S. had been black, do you think that the whites in this country would vote for a white person if it was their first opportunity to ever do so? Of course they would. They wouldn't care if he was for or against abortion, taxes, the war in Iraq or sending an astronaut to Saturn!" Not all white people would do as BeachBoy claims. If McCain were to be the first white person ever to run for president, I (who am white) would still definitely not vote for him. So please don't assume all whites think the same way you do because we don't.

Intelligence is a plus, really

I agree that I prefer someone smarter than I am to lead our country.
McCain the hothead finished nearly last in a class of over 800--AND do you think the son of the admiral got in on his grades?
Obama actually got into Harvard on his merits AND graduated at the top of his class.
General Clark thinks being a POW is not an endorsement and his fellow POW says he is a hothead, as we have seen.
So those uninformed need to stop yelling and use their noggin.

People go to political

People go to political rallies not only as an endorsement for their candidate, but to see and hear their future president in person.
Apparently McCain supporters don't have enough confidence that their pick will be the next president to do the same.

McCain is not the answer

Does it matter that when McCain came back to the states, he left his injured wife (she was in an accident while he was a POW) who waited five years for him. He met his current wife (while still married) who I might add is a former drug addict who stole from her own fundraisers. So yea not everybody is perfect and I guess we all make mistakes. McCain supports need to get a grip! McCain will not help us; he is about big money and oil companies. Yes he was a POW, but that won’t make him a great president, it sure didn’t make him a great husband! Family Values anyone?!?!?

Palin, The Socialist

If you want to know what its like to live under a socialist government, move to Alaska. They really spread the wealth there. Every citizen get $2100 a year.Sarah is the real socialist.

I just picked up my two free

I just picked up my two free tickets this evening. If I hadn't run out of paper I would have just printed them out. They are available on the McCain website.
Funny how some of you don't have the reading comprehension to understand that no where in the article did it mention that they were charging for them.
How much does Obama charge for the yard signs that people are putting up? Of course if you are willing to trespass on private property to take a McCain one down I bet they are free.

yay for Nawfik

They finally got their majority to show up at harbor park. Peaceful? Not according to the establishments on Granby st after the show. It seems that the memo didnt get out that the drinks and food wasnt free after the show.

Large Crowd?

McCain doesn't need to draw a large crowd. Seriously at this point people have made up their mind. I don't believe these polls one bit that says there are still X amount undecided. Have these undecided been living under a rock and not been paying attention these past months. Anyways, McCain doesn't need flashy shows and stadiums to get his message across. He's done that already for people who are voting with their head instead of their heart.

Who cares

Let's face it. McCain can not draw a large crowd. Especially without Palin. Thanks to Palin, his last visit was large, but nowhere near the crowd capacity of Obama. The student union building is a great location....nobody really wants to see him anyway. It would be embarrassing getting a place like harbor park and seeing all the empty seats.

Go Obama/Biden!

To cpisani1 & Others

I'm voting for McCain for a variety of reasons but I have to respond to cpisani1 who is making fun of the people in Harlem who seem to be uninformed about who is running with the exception of Obama. Ever watch Jay Leno? A huge percentage of majority & minority people in this country can't answer the simplest of questions about our government.

Second, I have a question for you. If every President in the history of the U.S. had been black, do you think that the whites in this country would vote for a white person if it was their first opportunity to ever do so? Of course they would. They wouldn't care if he was for or against abortion, taxes, the war in Iraq or sending an astronaut to Saturn!

Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McSame is selling tickets to his Def Comedy Show? About time, as no one should miss the opportunity to watch this confused, angry, dimwitted old man, fumble over words and recite the Bush doctrine verbatim. MCSame. . "I'm going to cut capitol gains. . " Of course, just like Bush, so your rich friends get more cash selling one of their seven or so milti-million dollar estates. What a fake.

EXACTLY!!!!

WAY TO GO ORION!!

YouTube

There's a video on YouTube where a journalist went into Harlem and questioned people about Obama. They asked questions like "What do you think of his running mate Sarah Palin?" and "What do you think about his beliefs on Pro-Life?" People answered with how much they loved Palin and how Pro Life was great....This just goes to show we have people voting that have no clue what's going on. It's really a shame that there are more voters this election than in the last and unfortunately it's because of one thing..VERY SAD!!

We have to remember that Obama knows nothing about "growing up in low class or poor" he went to the best schools..he knows nothing about struggle... COME ON!! People think that he can relate to them on this level..point is..HE CAN'T!

They're blinded by the fact that he's African-American and people think because it's different than what we've ever had, he'll do a better job. Again, VERY SAD. Our country cannot afford to have a Democrat as the President, Senate and Congress. There will be no checks and balances. There will only be liberal thoughts and actions..this country will be in a world of trouble.

Help keep "Hussein" out of office and vote for McCain

Differences in Events

Obama did hold a big rally in downtown Norfolk at the expense of the City of Norfolk and its taxpayers. I'm sure it was well organized because the City spent a fortune on it. Norfolk will do anything to get its name in the national news. The event was a free for all. And how is Obama going to thank the City of Norfolk for hosting the event? He is going to cut the defense budget which is Norfolk's and the region's #1 industry.

kstebritz...

To quote an old friend of MINE, "Our economy, I think, is still -- the fundamentals of our economy are strong." --John McCain-Jacksonville, Fla., Sept. 15, 2008

CLEARLY McCain is the better choice....CLEARLY. I can't think of anyone else who can sum up our wonderful economy better.

Mass confusion??? LOL

LSEVANS - Just wanted to share that Obama's rally at Harbor Park was exceptionally organized, considering the HUGE amount of people that were there who wanted to take part in a PEACEFUL, inspirational event. I don't think I have even heard those words used to describe a McCain rally?? The "sworn persons who should control this type of atmosphere" were probably out being trained to control the hate mongers that show up at McCain's events. I just hope that when you all are out there chanting for Obama's demise and calling him every offensive name in the book that the news is there to capture all the fun on tape. I am sure you would love to try and explain THAT to your kids.

OBAMA '08

Ivy22

Ivy22 – give it a rest. Or did you forget one of the recent visits by Obama that was held in a local high school’s library? Just remember, size doesn’t matter.

OK.....

....Let me get this straight!...I need to drive to Hampton...get tickets...drive back to Norfolk...then get up EARLY on a Saturday...drive back to Hampton to be packed into a small auditorium?...yup...same old Washington...gotta jump throught those hoops!!!!....no thanks!....Obama's rally was free...and the served hot chocolate. Had to stand in line for 2 hours...but oh the wonderful people I met!!!...the thought of standing in line with angry scivvie pants people lessens my interest!!!...Darn...another chance at seeing history...down the drain!!!

Too funny

I wonder if McCain will think Joe "the non-Plumber" will show up to this one too?

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/30/joe-the-plumber-missing-at-mccain-event/

So, Obama fills up Harbor

So, Obama fills up Harbor Park... and John McCain gets a little student center? Maybe it's a big area like The Ted @ ODU? Seems like they are making McCain a bit of a joke...
