NORFOLK

Public television station WHRO is looking for videos from people ages 14 to 25 that capture the political perspectives of their peers.

The winners of the “Be There Be Counted” video contest will have their videos broadcast on WHRO TV-15, podcast on the WHRO Web site and shared through online social media, according to the contest Web site.

Submissions should express the perspectives of young people on political engagement and election-related issues, the Web site said, by asking the following questions:

- How do young people make their voices heard? - Why should young people get involved? - What issues are important? - Why do the 2008 elections matter? - What’s at stake?

The competition is divided into two divisions: The junior division is for ages 14 to 18, and the senior division is for ages 18 to 25.

Submissions are due Oct. 20. Two winners from each division will be selected by a committee of judges.

The winners will be announced Oct. 24.
