Coast Guard cutter returning home for holiday

The Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane is expected to return to Portsmouth today from a 31-day patrol in the Bahamas.

During the patrol, the crew intercepted two vessels with migrants and four suspected smugglers, according to the Coast Guard.

An HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew from the Coast Guard’s station in Corpus Christi, Texas, also conducted law enforcement patrols with the cutter.

The cutter’s crew also volunteered at an orphanage during the deployment.
