Dixville is in

Historic vote this morning in the village of Dixville Notch, NH. The traditionally Republican enclave near the Canadian border has gone Democratic.

The tally, according to CNN, is Barack Obama - 15, John McCain - 6.

This is the first time in 40 years the town picked a Democrat. The last time was 1968, when Dixville favored Hubert Humphrey over Richard Nixon.

It's too soon for the Obama camp to break out the champagne. Here's a caution, courtesy of CNN, issued a couple of hours before Dixville balloting began:

The result in Dixville Notch is, however, hardly a reliable bellwether for the eventual winner of the White House or even the result statewide.

Here it is 6:07 and I am

Here it is 6:07 and I am already home from the polls. Not because I voted but because I tried to go in an entrance that had a sign that said "Voting Entrance" and everyone trying to enter through that door was told to come back in 5 minutes that they could not accomodate the numbers or obviously you could wait outside in the rain. So if they were not letting us in, I decided to leave. This community is not set-up and prepared to manage the number of voters (I cannot speak about other areas). Ridiculous that you should have to wait 4 hours, take off of work, or like me, I will have to go back with my child who has pneumonia and wait it out while he is miserable. Obviously from my experience in the first 3 minutes of voting, we are not capable of handling the numbers. Do they really want us to vote? Or are they part of the problem that creates low voter turnout?

Congratulations

You are about to elect a President who will give you a bigger government and more spending. Your new President will give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, drastically increase the number of H-1B visas, and eliminate E-verify at a time when millions of American Citizens are out of work. Your new Commander in Chief will keep American soldiers in Iraq against your will. Your new Chief Executive will borrow, spend, give away, and waste billions of dollars when the national debt is passing $12 trillion. Against your wishes your new President helped Bush give $1 trillion to the banks as his parting gift. No matter how much you object, Public Servant Number One will not listen and will continue to implement his own agenda. It doesn't matter if it's McCain or Obama.
