SUFFOLK

David Christopher Bone, a second suspect in a rash of catalytic converter thefts across Suffolk this summer, entered a plea agreement in Circuit Court on Monday that could bring him a maximum of 260 years.

Bone pleaded guilty to six counts of grand larceny, one count of attempted grand larceny, one count of conspiracy to commit larceny, five counts of larceny with intent to sell and one count of possession of burglary tools.

Bone, 27, was facing 27 charges in all. Under the agreement, none of the other charges will be prosecuted.

The incidents happened in early July, when Bone and accomplices pulled into public parking lots, snipped off the catalytic converters from beneath vehicles and drove away. The expensive auto part is a part of a vehicle's emission system and contains various precious metals.

Bone, of Windsor, will be sentenced March 5.
