WASHINGTON
U.S. Sen.-elect Mark Warner has chosen Luke Albee, a veteran Democratic congressional and political operative, to serve as his chief of staff, his office announced Monday.
Albee, 48, spent 11 years as chief of staff for Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, leaving in 2005 to join Richetti Inc., a political consulting firm in Washington. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds a master's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics.
Albee gained national attention shortly after the anthrax attacks on Washington in late 2001 by ordering a halt to mail deliveries to Leahy's office. An anthrax-laced letter to Leahy was discovered about a month later in a batch of quarantined mail.
Albee's appointment was announced as Warner paid a courtesy call on incumbent Sen. John Warner, the man he'll replace in January, and began several days of orientation sessions for newly elected senators.
The two Warners, who are not related, promised a smooth transition and took turns praising one another. Once adversaries - Mark Warner, a Democrat, ran unsuccessfully for the Senate against John Warner, a Republican, in 1996 - they became allies during Mark Warner's term as governor from 2002-06.
In this year's Senate contest, John Warner remained publicly neutral as Mark Warner easily defeated Republican nominee Jim Gilmore.

So much for Change
Seems like we can throw change out the window. Hiring a Washington insider who right now is working as a lobbist.. Same old politics promise one thing and don't do that... Oh well you get what you voted for
