NORFOLK
The Virginia State Bar has suspended the law license of former Circuit Judge Alfred M. Tripp on grounds of impairment, it said this week.
Tripp resigned from his post on the bench in February after a three-month absence. No explanation was offered, although a source said in October 2007 that Tripp had been barred from the courthouse. The bar suspended Tripp's license Nov. 21.
Tripp was appointed to the General District Court bench in April 2003. He rose to the Circuit Court in 2006.

Any one is allowed to go and
Any one is allowed to go and observe the court proceedings, and they should. You will soon see why some people have stopped calling it "Circuit Court" and now use the simpler "Circus Court"
Makes one wonder
what in the heck is going on in the Norfolk Circuit Court. Did this incapacity affect some of the cases that were brought before him? Why not be forthright & let the general public know what the issue is here? There must have been a very serious incident or problem associated with this in order to bar him from the court building. If this were a corporate executive, a banker, etc there would be no limits into the inquiry of mismanagement or mental capacity. I think you get the message. The judicial system has a way of burying this type of incidents. Wonder why the media hasn't demanded a better answer?
Lots of questions here, huh!
"Impairment"
Impairment....In what capacity? mental or physical disability? irrational misconduct? What did he do specifically? This is rather curious.
All of Thelma's boys...
....Griffith, Tripp, (and probably Thomas and Dockerty soon enough)....is there a pattern here ?
