Norfolk police investigate afternoon shooting

NORFOLK

Norfolk police are investigating a shooting that took place in a supermarket parking lot Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of shots fired on the 200 block of East Little Creek Road at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a man inside a parked car in the Farm Fresh parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound, police spokesman Chris Amos said.

The man had gotten into an altercation with three or four inviduals inside the grocery, Amos said. When he left the store, the group followed him and one of them shot him, Amos said.

The man was transported to a hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, Amos said Sunday evening.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

I'm wondering . . .

Did the argument inside the store get captured on the store's security cameras?
