Norfolk State University students were victims of multiple armed robberies on campus and in surrounding neighborhoods this month, an NSU campus alert said Thursday. The campus police department issued the alert to students, faculty and staff.
It did not say how many robberies had taken place, exactly where they happened, or what day they occurred.
The robbers took cash, cell phones and personal items. University police have increased patrols, the alert said.
The suspects were described as black males between the ages of 15 and 20. They approached victims displaying handguns or implying that they had handguns, the alert said.
Norfolk police are assisting university police. Police asked that anyone with information about the robbers call Norfolk State University police at (757) 823-8102.
