Virginia Beach man charged with sexually assaulting child

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a child.

Jared Schamber, 25, of the 3200 block of Dunnbury Court, was charged Friday with assaulting a child who lives with him but is not related, police said.

Schamber was charged with aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy and could face other charges, police said.

He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
