Virginia election officials warn of phony calls about polling places

RICHMOND

Virginia voters are getting telephone calls with deceptive information about where to vote.

The State Board of Elections says the automated calls are intended to mislead voters about their polling places.

The board's advice to voters: don't believe the calls. If your polling place has been changed, you won't be told by an unsolicited robo-call.

Your best bet is to check your polling location before you head out to vote.

You can check it online at www.sbe.virginia.gov.

You can check it by calling call the state board toll-free at 1-800-552-9745.

Look under "Voter Registration" in your local telephone directory and call there to ask.

Yeah, angelag1 that makes a lot of sense -- the call says support Obama and gives you fake polling place so you can't vote for him. That *couldn't* be the republicans, could it?

The jury is out, but this smells more like ACORN than it does either of the campaigns. However, ACORN is a paid political "helper" of the Obama campaign.

I hope they find the source of the calls and make it public for all to see.

Will someone just admit for once that they voted for obama because he is black? Especially if your going to make the case that some people are not going to vote for him because he is not white. CNN had an "ireporter" who was black said she voted for obama because she thought he was a better American...What a joke..Would I be a better American if I had grandparents in Africa? Get real..Go vote for someone who has absolutely nothing in common with you and your shooting yourself in the foot..

this has been happening for weeks. some people are really scared! it's kind of funny that there are so many stupid people out here. if they spent even half the time they do being deceptive, our country probably wouldn't be in the shape it is today. go obama!
