A 20 year-old Beach man was arrested this morning after he was accused of threatening a city police officer.
Dylan Freeman was taken into custody at his Bells Road home at about 6:45 a.m. and charged with intimidation of police.
Police spokesman Adam Bernstein said Freeman and the detective he allegedly threatened were not strangers. The detective had charged Freeman with crimes twice before, the last being earlier this month.
Bernstein said the detective had identified Freeman in a third investigation, and was interviewing possible witnesses when Freeman learned of the probe.
Freeman allegedly called the detective on Monday and left a voice message, which contained vulgarity and direct threats to the officer.
Freeman is being held at the city on $2,500 bail.
