David Copperfield trick goes wrong, breaks man's arm
An employee of David Copperfield was hospitalized Wednesday with a broken arm after one of the illusionist's tricks went awry on stage. The unidentified employee was assisting Copperfield during the "fan illusion" and got his arm caught in the fan. In the illusion, Copperfield appears to walk through the fan and disappear as he turns to smoke. Apparently Copperfield has pulled off the stunt over 3,000 times and this was just “a freak accident." Nonetheless, the audience didn’t get the full performance, as the show as stopped after the mishap.
Rachel Ray's premium dog food recipe recalled
Cube's on the hunt for a story supposedly posted to Fark from OhMiDog.com about America's favorite epicure developing a new line of premium dog food. That's not the news, though, her pet brand launched in July of this year. But apparently some of her doggie dishes contained onions which are fatal to canines! Oy! Check out Nutrish.
Watergate's "Deep Throat" dies at 95
According to the AP, the former FBI agent who tipped off reporters to bring down President Richard Nixon died of congestive heart failure at age 95. W. Mark Felt denied accusations that he was the source for Post reporters Woodward and Bernstein. Read the story about the man who finally admitted to Vanity Fair in 2005: "I'm the guy they used to call Deep Throat."
Star Trek Universe loses Majel Barrett Roddenberry
In a more enlightened age, Majel Barrett Roddenberry might have rated a Federation command. As it was, she helped rule the Star Trek universe. Roddenberry, the actress whose best-known role was the wife and, later, widow of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, died today at her Bel Air, Calif., home, Roddenberry.com said. The reported cause of death was leukemia.

Duggar Family welcomes 18th child
Eventually they’ll run out of J names, right? Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of Tontitown, Ark., had their 18th child Thursday – Jordyn-Grace Makiya, who joins the rest of her J-named siblings. Jordyn-Grace was born via C-section at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, weeks before her due date of Jan. 1. The Duggar’s crowded house is featured on the TLC network show 17 Kids & Counting. The other kids – who range in age from 20 years to 17 months – are Joshua (who married Anna Keller), twins John-David and Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, twins Jeremiah and Jedidiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah and Jennifer. Phew!
A special on Jordyn-Grace's birth will air Dec. 22 at 10 p.m. on TLC. Whatta think?...will they go for 19?!
