SUFFOLK

A 46-year-old father was charged with felony cruelty and injury to a child after police say he left his toddler in a pickup while he shopped at Wal-Mart.

Police said Bobby Gene Mosley was in the Suffolk Wal-Mart on North Main Street for about 16 minutes Saturday evening while his 3-year-old daughter waited unattended. She was uninjured.

A passer-by called the police, who came to the scene and interviewed Mosley when he returned to his pick-up, said Debbie George, Suffolk spokeswoman.

Mosley was arrested and charged. The child was turned over to her mother, George said.
