High in the low 60s today with chance of rain tonight

 The chance of rain will hold off until this evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Today’s high will be a warmer 61 with southwest breezes from 11 to 15 mph, the weather service says. Temperatures will drop into the high 30s tonight.

Friday will be colder with a high of 47 and mostly cloudy skies, the weather service says. Temperatures will drop into the low 30s Friday night.

A small craft advisory has been issued for coastal waters off the Eastern Shore, Virginia Beach and to Currituck Beach Light.
