Circuit Judge Bruce Kushner denied bond Monday for Marvin Knight Jr., a Chesapeake teen charged in the July fatal shooting of Lonnie Andrews Jr.
Knight, 17, is scheduled to stand trial April 20 on charges of murder and use of a firearm , according to court records.
Andrews, an 18-year-old former Oscar Smith High football standout, was shot July 1 in the 800 block of Lindale Drive, off Campostella Road in South Norfolk, according to police.
Knight’s father, testifying at the bond hearing, said his son was a junior at Oscar Smith and had no criminal history. He is being prosecuted as an adult.
James Broccoletti, Knight’s attorney, said the case will be one of self-defense .

Oscar Smith Football and Lonnie
I think we can say that the Tigers haven't let Lonnie's death go in vain. They have made Tiger history recently and I hope they continue on this successful path.
May the criminal who took Lonnie's life be brought to swift and harsh justice.
