Missing Norfolk girl returns home safely

A 9-year-old Norfolk girl who was reported missing Friday is now at home with her parents.

Karen Parker-Chesson, a Norfolk police spokeswoman, said Sequoia Allen returned home to the 1200 block of Curie Court about noon today after spending the night at a friend’s house.

Apparently, Allen told a friend that it was she was allowed to spend the night. Neither set of parents were aware of the arrangements, Parker-Chesson said.

Parent to parent communication

I'm glad the girl was safe and unharmed. This should highlight the importance of parent-to-parent communication. A simple phone call could have saved all involved parties a bunch of anxiety...
