A motorcyclist was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital this afternoon after his bike collided with an SUV in the 2700 block of Elbow Road near the Virginia Beach city line, according to Charles Thiebaud, a Chesapeake police spokesman.
The accident occurred about 12:58 p.m. Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
The condition of the motorcycle operator was unknown this afternoon.

followup to motorcycle accident victim of the Motorcycle Accident that occured 12/24/2008 12:58 pm. Victim recovered from 2 broken legs, 2 broken wrist, crushed bones in foot minor laseration to forehead and minor vision blurriness. Hospitalized for 1 month. bed riden for 2 months, 4 months in wheelchair, 6 months using walker and canes. Still uses canes occasionally. Lucky to be alive. Gave up Motorcycles. If it wasn't for his family and friends he would not have been able to function. Many thanks to all involved.
Victim had taken motorcycle safety course prior to riding and just had not had enough practice on that size of motorcycle before attempting Elbow Rd.
