Julie Cabral Lucas writes about being a follower of Jesus and His impact on her life, our local community, this country and the world. She also writes for TidewaterCrossSection.com, is a full time Mommy, and doesn’t spend enough time with adults – which explains all incoherent ramblings!

She hopes to show how simple God’s love is in a world confused by “man’s” complicated theology. So wear what you like, ‘cause you’re not in church here!

Paranormal High!

With all the paranormal reality shows lighting up the ratings on cable TV these days it is no wonder that a group of high schooler’s at Lakeland High in Suffolk would have begun their own paranormal research society called the Lakeland Skeptics Society. I’m all for skepticism but not when it comes to the paranormal.

The “paranormal” as the secularists love to call it is no more than trying to find out what is going on in the spirit realm or if there is in fact a spirit realm at all. Let me just say that dabbling in the “spirit realm” is a dangerous undertaking for the uninformed. Needless to say most of the general population is completely clueless about the spirit realm and those that should be well versed and knowledgeable, i.e. the Christian church, have abdicated their spiritual calling for a more lucrative role as community social director and secular psychologist.

Be that as it may, this team of students armed with a Ouija board, tarot cards and a thermal imaging device set about to contact “something”. They, of course, were supervised by their thoughtless teacher Marcus Daniels who no doubt is equally as uninformed as they are if he would even attempt such a practice or involve young people in it.

The spirit realm is very real and very dangerous to those who do not know what they are dealing with. If it weren’t real, then why are so many people out there afraid of the thing that goes bump in the night…or the dark…or being alone…do I have to go on? What about all those hundreds of thousands of people who have encountered a spirit, are they to be dismissed outright because it doesn’t trip a motion sensor or set off a Giger counter or fit into your idea of the universe?

Attempting to contact the spirit realm is much like going down a mine shaft without a way to measure oxygen or dangerous gases. If you make it out of the mine without exposing yourself to an immediate danger, the toxic effects of your little excursion down into the mine could possibly be felt years later as you discover you were exposed to dangerous levels of a tasteless, odorless, carcinogen known as radon. Simply asking, as these foolish students did while being supervised by someone who should be old enough to know better, for “something” to appear could be a simple invitation to the darker side of the spirit realm.

These so called “spirits” that they are trying to contact are not some dead ancestor or civil war veteran, as they seemed to imagine, but are parasitic spirits that have only stealth to hide their very being. They are intelligent creatures with a very malevolent mission in mind. They are not going to give their existence away. For them that would be foolish. Nope, they simply wait until the evening has concluded and these thoughtless students have gone their separate ways…and late at night, while they sleep, these things will inhabit their dreams, invade their lives and overwhelm them with their own self serving desires. These students will wake up years from now not knowing what hit them as their lives take a drastic and measurable turn for the worst.

“The thief only comes to kill, steal and destroy…” John 10:10

If this empty headed teacher, Mr. Marcus Daniels wants to do an experiment, why doesn’t he do a diary on each student that is involved in these dangerous so called experiments and find out where their lives are 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now? Sounds cruel, but that would give Mr. Daniels more useful data on how his little experiment turned out.

Where is Lakeland High Schools principal? Where are these kids’ parents? Where is our local clergy?

Let’s hope these kids have someone who is praying for them daily. My advice to all who are reading this: stay away from the occult. And if you have dabbled in it, renounce it as evil and give your life to Jesus the only one who can protect you. If you want to know the truth about spirits; read the bible.

This teacher is trying to

This teacher is trying to get students excited about science by leveraging what I guess is a popular television show in the same manner as other science teachers used shows revolving around criminal forensics a few years ago. In the whole of human history there is no reliable account of ghosts or a spirits (yes, this includes the holy ghost and zombie Jesus) so there is very little danger of these kids finding any. Your writing is just a simple minded bash against public schools and in particular a public school teacher. I note that you refered to the teacher as "empty headed." This amuses me in light of the dreck and nonsense you surround this insult with, but I think you should be a bit more repesectful to someone who is actually teaching kids something worthwhile (about ambiant radiation for instance and giving them some practical experience with sensor equioment) rather than the complete drivel your spewing.
