The former headquarters of Michael Vick’s dogfighting enterprise failed to sell Friday for a second time.
About 14 people representing seven groups showed up for an auction of 1915 Moonlight Road in Surry County, but none brought the requisite $20,000 deposit to make a bid, said Tim Dudley, vice president of Motley’s Auction & Realty Group.
The auction has been tentatively postponed until early next month. A date has not been set.
Wilbur Ray Todd Jr. bought the 4,600-square-foot home and 15 acres from Vick last year. Vick, a native of Newport News, was sentenced soon after to 23 months in federal prison, convicted in an interstate dogfighting conspiracy with three other men.
Todd fixed up the property, but it failed to sell at an auction last December.
He set a minimum asking price of $590,000 this time, Dudley said. The property was appraised at $984,000, he said.

Awww I'm being censored by the Pilot's staff again. Did a Realtor complain about my anti-Realtor postings?!?!
Ethan was right
If the appraised value was $984,000 and the asking price was $590,000 that is a 40% reduction in value, and nobody bought it. Ethan, you are on to something with your prediction of a 40% decline in real estate values. Doggone, you're smart.
Well...
I am sure someone will eventually buy it. People keep buying that crazy house up in Amityville NY.
jc....
You forgot the wax jail cell.
Wow on a gift shop idea
I like the shot glass thing. Maybe some football stuff too.

The greedy flipper bought it just to resell. Someone who really wanted to property to live in lost a chance. It's the risk you take, and it's amusing to see someone loose like this. He bought the house well after the peak of the housing mania.
I have an idea!
Turn it into a wax museum... a dogfighting wax museum! Complete with wax dogs, wax trainers, a wax audience of wax fans, wax bookies, wax underworld lowlifes... there could be a giftshop to sell keychains, shotglasses, popup storybooks, and other such mementos and souvenirs.
Make local history come alive in way that is educational and fun. This could be a great destination for school field trips.
I really think I'm onto something with the popup storybook idea...
another eminity
The haunting cry of badly wounded dogs that can be heard throughout the property. Nothing you would want to call home!
